Matthew Weaver is a contemporary American composer. While currently residing in Yantai, China, Weaver teaches both instrumental music and A.P.English at the Yantai American School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory & Composition at Middle Tennessee State University where he studied under Dr.Paul Osterfield. After completing studies at Middle Tennessee State University, Mr. Weaver went on to complete a Masters of Music degree in composition at the Boston Conservatory.
He has written music for a diverse range of instruments and instrumental combinations which include compositions scored for orchestra, wind ensemble, chamber groups, choir and solo instruments. Weaver's music has been performed and featured at places such as Akron University, Central Michigan University, Middle Tennessee State University, and the Boston Conservatory.
Some of Weaver's notable collaborations have been with the world-famous Boston Musica Viva who premiered his 'Sequential Passions', the prize-winning flutist Ayca Cetin, and Duo Esplanade.
